Welcome to a brand new school year! My name is Beth Brown and I will be your child's teacher this year. I look forward to a busy and exciting year in Room 5, at Hermon-DeKalb, and am eager to work with you and your child (a.k.a. a Smartie) to make first grade a wonderful place to be.I thought you might like to know a little about me, as I will be guiding your child's journey through first grade. I grew up in Connecticut and travel there quite often to visit my family. I married an amazing Canadian man and have FOUR adventurous little boys. I earned my elementary education degree from St. Bonaventure University and my master's degree in education from SUNY Potsdam. I taught 2 years in a private school in New Rochelle, New York prior to teaching at Hermon-DeKalb. I will be starting my 18th year at Hermon-Dekalb Central School.I have 3 goals for my Smarties this year. They are:
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to send a note to school with your Smartie or call the school @347-3442.I look forward to sharing this year with you & your Smartie!
