Hermon-DeKalb Heroes Project

During the 2023-24 school year, a section of the HDCS senior class worked on a special task for their capstone project – developing community banners to recognize veterans of the district!

The banners feature veterans and active service members who have attended and graduated from Hermon-DeKalb Central School (exceptions are be made for veterans who were drafted in wartime). Eligible veterans can be currently serving, honorably discharged or retired. This honor also extends to veterans who have passed away, making them eligible for recognition too.

The goal is to display the banners by Memorial Day in DeKalb and Hermon every year. Banners are being created with the help of Robinson Art & Design / Sean Robinson 2023 HD Graduate and are made in the United States.
