Become a Bus Driver

Should You Become A School Bus Driver?

  • Do you have great people skills and enjoy working with kids?
  • Do you enjoy driving and care about the safety of kids?
  • Are you looking for a flexible job with great benefits?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, consider becoming a bus driver for Hermon-DeKalb Central School District!

9 Reasons Why It’s a Great Job

  1. As long as kids get evenings and weekends off, so will you. You’ll never take your work home with you. It would be illegal.
  2. Make $21.22 per hour, with no experience, doing what most parents do for free!
  3. Drive as little or as much as you like. A job with ultimate flexibility.
  4. Job security - good drivers are always in high demand!
  5. Work and make a difference in your area.
  6. Interact with families in your area and provide the essential service of making school transportation available to as many students as possible.
  7. Choose from various bonus hours driving for field trips and other school activities.
  8. Relax on your time off during the summer months and holidays.
  9. Drivers only need to work 15 hours per week to qualify for a full-time benefits package, including medical, vision, dental, and retirement.

Hermon-DeKalb is looking for full-time and part-time school bus drivers. We offer paid training.
