Summer Food Service Program

Image of a map showing sites for the Summer Food Service Program

This summer, breakfast and lunch are available to kids in the Hermon-DeKalb Central School District community.

All children 18 years of age or younger are eligible to access free meals through the Summer Nutrition Program, which is offered by Hermon-DeKalb Central School District and other participating school districts in partnership with the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Central Food Management Service.

Families may visit any site in our region (regardless of home address) to have a free breakfast and/or lunch.

Meal Prices and Payment Information

Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students for the 2023-24 school year.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The free breakfast and lunch that is being offered to students during the 2023-24 school year is the result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.

À la carte items and extra meals remain available for students, but those add-ons will need to be purchased separately.

Please consider filling out the Household Income Eligibility Form, as it provides additional benefits to families and the school district.

Learn more about the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in this Parent Letter.

Hermon-DeKalb Central School utilizes a convenient and secure online prepayment service called MySchoolBucks to deposit money into your child’s school meal account. This service also provides parents the ability to view your child’s account balance. Parents/families must sign up to use the service. Student ID is required to set up an account. Please contact the school if you need the ID number at 315-347-3442.

Alternatively, money can be sent with your student to school in an envelope that is labeled with:

  • Cafeteria and/or Sonya Forbes' name
  • The student's name

If it is not labeled, it may not get to the Cafeteria or the money may not be added to the right student account.
