Hunter Bouchey Scores 1000th Career Point
Hunter Bouchey, a junior at Hermon-DeKalb Central School, scored his 1,000th career point on Monday, February 9, during a basketball game against Edwards-Knox Central School.
The son of Michael and Pamela Bouchey, Hunter started his varsity basketball career as an eighth grader. He averages 24 points per game and earned First Team All-Northern honors as a sophomore during the 2024-25 season.
Hunter is also a standout on the soccer field. This fall, he earned First Team All-Northern ,Defensive MVP, and All-State Small Schools recognition. As a sophomore, he was honored for his outstanding sportsmanship as a sophomore.
This season, Hunter is coached by Jake Fenlong. “Hunter is the definition of what hard work looks like. His commitment to the gym, his focus in the classroom, and the way he shows up for his teammates every single day speak louder than any stat sheet,” said Fenlong. “Even more impressive than the points is the leadership Hunter brings to the program. He leads by example, pushes others to be better, and has continued to rise through challenges and obstacles with grit, resilience, and confidence”
