Capital improvement project enhances interior, exterior spaces
May 16, 2022
Hermon-DeKalb Central School recently underwent $15 million worth of exciting upgrades both inside and outside of the building.
The capital improvement project improved nearly every area of the building, enhancing spaces for our students and staff while also strengthening safety and increasing accessibility.
Major renovations have been completed in all classrooms, the gymnasium, cafeteria and special education classroom additions. Outside of the building, parking lots were expanded and upgrades were made to exterior lighting. At the bus garage, a modern work bay was added and other improvements were made.
With the district’s current New York state aid rate, this project was completed with zero impact on local taxes. These changes to the district would not have been possible without the support of the community.
